Build 503 of ScopeFIR 5 was released on August 7, 2011.  It fixes a minor problem of updating plots when the sampling frequency is changed.

 ScopeFIR 5 includes the following new features:

1. Minimum Phase Design.  ScopeFIR 5 can now design "minimum phase" (minimum delay) FIR filters by converting a filter designed with any other method from linear phase (constant delay) to minimum phase.
2. Quantization. ScopeFIR 5 provides several new coefficient quantization methods which can be used to create quantized FIRs whose response more closely match the original FIR.
3. NTaps Constraints. The number of taps (NTaps) can be constrained to be even/odd, or a multiple of some value.  This is particularly useful in designing multirate FIR filters.
4. Design Options.  ScopeFIR 5 provides advanced control of the design/optimize process, allowing the new features above to be automatically used in combination.  For example, you can automatically do the following operations just by starting the design/optimize process:
   •    Design a FIR which meets the NTaps Constraints.
   •    Automatically convert it to minimum phase form.
   •    Quantize it.
5. Export to HTML.  ScopeFIR 5's new "HTML:Report" export format produces an HTML file showing your FIR's design specifications and its frequency and impulse responses.  This allows you to easily document your full design by importing the HTML into Word, Acrobat, etc.
6. Coefficient Histogram. ScopeFIR 5 can show a histogram of coefficients.
7. Additional plot styles.  ScopeFIR 5 adds "stem", "bar", and "stair" as new plot styles.
