A ScopeFIR Project is just a file which holds all filter design information, including the filter specifications, the sampling frequency and the filter coefficient data. Each project can hold one complex filter. The default extension for ScopeFIR projects is "sfp".
Projects are stored in ScopeFIR's internal binary format, and so cannot generally be used outside of ScopeFIR. To actually use the coefficients ScopeFIR has designed, you must export them to a file via the Export command. This writes the coefficients to a data file in any of ScopeFIR's text or binary data file formats. Likewise, you can Import coefficients into a project, but be aware that the filter coefficients and any filter specification data you have entered in the Project then might not correspond.
Another note: if you hit the "Design" button, you will later be prompted to save the Project, even if you have not changed the specifications. This is because Design causes new coefficients to be generated, which are stored in the project.
