Designing FIR filters with ScopeFIR involves the following basic steps:

1. Create a new project
2. Select one of ScopeFIR's Specification Editors.
3. Enter the specifications for your filter.
4. Hit the " Design" or " Optimize" buttons to generate the filter from the specifications.
5. Analyze the filter using the frequency plot, impulse plot, and frequency response list.
6. Modify the filter  as  needed via the FIR menu and the Coefficient Editor.
7. Export the filter coefficients to a file for use by your application.

The filter design process is inherently iterative, so typically you will adjust the specifications and re-design/re-optimize your filter several times until you find the combination that best meets the needs of your application.
