Design Options (FIR menu)

ScopeFIR's Design Options allow you to specify three basic types of information used by ScopeFIR's filter design and optimization engines:

  1. Sampling frequency (Fs) -  The sampling frequency of the filter
  2. NTaps Constraints - Min/max limits, and constraints on the number of taps such as even/odd, or multiple
  3. Min Phase  - Options for automatically converting linear-phase FIRs into minimum-phase (that is, minimum delay) FIRs
  4. Quantization - Quantization to a fixed number of bits

You can access the design options for any filter via Design Options on the  FIR menu or by clicking on the Design Options button of the design editor.   (That's the button in the upper left of each design editor that shows the current sampling frequency.)

After you change the Design Options, you should design or optimize the filter to apply the new options.
